Queensland Government (NRM) - Regional Business Support Package - OPEN

The Regional Business support package is to support regional businesses with the phasing out of transitional and obsolete electricity tariffs by 2020. It aims to help business customers better understand their electricity use, minimise their electricity costs and make informed choices about future tariff options. The package includes 5 initiatives:

agricultural tariff trial - tariff trial for small agricultural customers (CLOSED)
large customer adjustment trial - co-contribution grants for up to 10 large business customers (CLOSED)
business tariff information upgrade - development of tariff comparison tools and information
energy audit advice and information - energy audits for up to 20 regional businesses

Queensland Government (DAF) - Drought Relief Assistance Scheme

Upto $20,000 per property per financial year.

This scheme was established to help primary producers manage their livestock resource during drought and to help in the restoration of that resource after drought. The scheme provides:

freight subsidies on the transport of fodder and water
transport of animals returning from agistment and
freight subsidies to transport livestock purchased for restocking after the drought.

You may be eligible for DRAS assistance if:

you are a property owner, share-farmer or lessee in the grazing industry (horses, beef or dairy cattle, sheep, goats or deer)
your property is within a drought-declared area or has a current individually droughted property (IDP) declaration
you have incurred costs on transport of fodder, water, animals returning from Agistment, animals purchased for restocking after drought and rebate on water infrastructure purchased for emergency animal welfare needs.

Queensland Government – (DAF – Ergon) - Drought Relief from Electricity Charges Scheme (DRECS)

The Drought Relief from Electricity Charges Scheme (DRECS) provides relief from supply charges on electricity accounts that are used to pump water for farm or irrigation purposes. Financial assistance is available in drought-declared areas or if your property has been drought-declared. You can apply for a waiver or reimbursement of supply charges on all relevant electricity accounts.

Queensland Government – (DAF) - Other drought rebates and fee relief

Land rent rebates

Holders of rural leases (Category 11 leases used for grazing and primary production) are eligible for a rebate of 15% of their annual rent where that annual rent is more than $261.00 (excl. GST). The rebate is available to producers who hold leases in drought-declared areas and to those who have an individually droughted property (IDP). Producers who are eligible for the rebate will receive information with their annual/quarterly invoices.

Water licence waivers

Annual water licence fees are being waived for Queensland producers whose properties are in drought-declared areas or have an IDP. Affected producers will be advised of the waiver by letter.

Fees for all new water licence applications for stock and domestic water in all drought-declared areas in Queensland will also be waived. This includes properties with an IDP.

Transport-related drought assistance measures include:

permits for increasing the maximum hay loading height
concessions on shifting droughted livestock
waivers and greater flexibility on certain vehicle registration conditions and fees and charges
increased school transport allowances for some families that drive their children to school or connect with a school bus run.

Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal – Small Grants for Rural Communities – currently closed but open twice a year

Projects and activities should offer a clear public benefit for communities in rural, regional and remote locations. Applications from communities with a population of 10,000 or less will receive priority. Not-for-profit community-based organisations that have an ABN or Incorporation Certificate can apply. Organisations / projects demonstrating community partnerships are preferred to multiple applications from one community (please submit only one application per organisation).

Queensland Government – (DES) - Nature Refuge Landholder Grant

Financial assistance provided to existing nature refuge landholders with a nature refuge agreement with DES. The grant supports landholders to undertake projects that will protect and enhance the significant values outlined in their agreement.

Projects could include:

Weed control
Fencing to restrict/exclude stock
Fire and pest animal management programs/plans
Revegetation
Other activities to conserve and manage the nature refuge value.

Impact Investment Ready Growth Grant

Provides capacity building grants of up to $100,000 to mission-driven for-profit and not-for-profit organisations, allowing them to secure investment capital to scale their social or environmental impact.

Queensland Government – Advance Queensland - Industry Tech Fund QLD

Provides businesses participating in collaborative, large scale, co-funded technology projects with funding of between $250,000 and $5 million to accelerate the emergence of new products and / or services based on a platform technology. At a minimum, you must: be a GST registered business with an ABN; have a minimum of three QLD based partners; be able fund at least 75% of the cost of the eligible project.

Hort Frontiers – Advanced Production Systems Fund

The purpose of the Advanced Production Systems Fund is to increase farm productivity and profitability of the Australian horticulture industry by implementing R&D programs in all fruit, vegetable, amenity and nut crops to deliver “future smart farming” systems.

Ignitor Fund

Seeksto support Australian social enterprise changemakers who are finding new and innovative solutions to tackle the most pressing issues within their local communities and who are now looking to build capacity to overcome the challenges of taking their concept to scale to be impact investment ready.

Supporting a healthy pollination future grants

The Pollination Fund, part of the Hort Frontiers strategic partnership initiative, aims to enhance and support existing pollinators, and identify the most effective pollination methods for various horticulture crop types. To help in safeguarding the horticulture industry, the Pollination Fund will identify putting practical measures in place to support honey bee health and identify and develop new pollination opportunities and techniques.

Qld Government Grants – Get playing places and spaces grant. Look for next round

Get Playing Places and Spaces provides funding for infrastructure development so that more Queenslanders can be involved in sport and active recreation. Eligible organisations can apply for up to $150,000 (GST exclusive). Organisations will need to contribute a minimum of 20 per cent to the total eligible project costs. Qld Government Grants – Sports Play Plus Grant

Projects must be a new or major upgrade to an existing place or space that supports participation in sport and recreation activities. Departmental funding contributions for projects are between $200,000 and $1,500,000 (GST exclusive); depending on the geographic location of the project. Gambling Community Benefit Fund

An easy to apply for and low level acquittal grant. The fund allocates grants to not-for-profit community groups, to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queensland communities. Qld Government – DES - Community Sustainability Action grants

Qld Government – DSD – Made in Queensland Grant

Made in Queensland (MIQ) is a $40 million Queensland Government initiative supporting small to medium sized manufacturers to become more internationally competitive and adopt innovative processes and technologies, complementing the updated Queensland Advanced Manufacturing 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan. Eligible manufacturing businesses can apply for grants of between $50,000 and $2.5 million to help them become more productive, grow, innovate and create knowledge-based jobs for the future.
